MRG Studios Chinese Grouping. I braved the hot weather we had here in Washington, by painting in my nice cool basement all day.
Awhile back I acquired a set of Chinese bookends, they have been hanging around forever. They started out that awful 1960’s gold color, so I decided to give them that old green bronze patina. Recently I found a terracotta warrior, when I purchased him, he was painted all kinds of wild colors, like a clown, so I decided to bronze him. After completing both projects I made the Chinese grouping you see in the pictures.

Moss Man: wall mounted in the taxidermy style, made from real moss from JN’s parents house. Made from resin, epoxy, and alligator teeth. My wife doesn’t like this one, she says it’s creepy (which is weird because she likes all of my other creepy art). So I hung it in the upstairs hallway, right outside my sons bedroom, that way he gets to see it every morning when he wakes up, poor kid.

After I was done building my robot snail, it reminded me of something steampunk. Made from a real sea shell my son found on the beach here at the house.Had it for awhile and was wondering what I could do with it. I mixed it up with an old zoid model, I had lying around. Painted gold copper, and bronze, with green aging , thought it turned out pretty good.
